Let The Pieces Fall Where They May: Zaldy Garra

There is a delicate dance between control and surrender, the floater and the sinker—a balance that often escapes our grasp as we navigate the unpredictable waters of existence. Much like balloons blown by the wind or leaves falling to the ground, we face circumstances that are beyond our manipulation. Yet, it is in these moments of uncertainty that the true essence of our being is revealed.

When we give up the desire to dictate every outcome, we open ourselves to a world of limitless possibilities. Embracing the unknown requires a leap of faith, an unburdened step into the realm of uncertainty. But in this space of vulnerability, as we jump into the big pond, we find courage, resilience, and a profound sense of self-discovery. As we release our grip on the steering wheel of life, we allow the universe to unfold its mysterious and awe-inspiring ways.

In my new series of works, I am sharing some of my thoughts, delving into the process that often involves overthinking and 'what-ifs,' common to every artist. During this period, I tried to embrace this philosophy: "Let the pieces fall where they may". I used this as the guiding principle for my expression. Through my work, I explore the beauty of imperfection and the spontaneity of the creative process, surrendering control and allowing the unpredictable elements of art to shape my creations.

I started creating this series in March 2023. A host of events, challenges, and circumstances unfolded during this period. While it took time to finish, I am glad it is now complete. (Zaldy Garra)
